Kibingo washing station is located in Kayanza province, Northern Burundi, near the border with Rwanda. It has beautiful volcanic soil, high altitude and a dry harvesting season, making it an ideal place to grow coffee. The name Kibingo stems from the Kirundi word “urubingo”, which means ‘reeds’. This refers to the fact that the washing station
is built over a river, whose banks have been propagated with reeds to hinder soil erosion.
This lot is washed in typical African style delivering standout floral and fruit flavours with elegance. It is made up of coffees sourced from over 3500 local coffee farmers. No wonder it tastes so complex.
