This coffee is processed at Baroida Estate in the Eastern Highlands of PNG. The estate is owned and operated by the Colbran family. In 2010, our suppliers at MTC and the Colbran family joined in a unique specialty coffee partnership, aiming to focus on unique, traceable and small-lot specialty coffees. Tairora is sourced as cherry from a variety of surrounding indigenous estate owners and tribal lands that have been supplying cherries to the Colbrans for decades.
Ripe cherries are brought to the Baroida wet mill collection point on
a daily basis during harvest. The cherries are sorted and checked for quality and the growers are paid on the spot for their crop. Baroida then pulps, ferments, washes, dries and prepares the coffee for export. The Colbran family continue to push the quality envelope in one of the most challenging coffee origins on the planet.
